What is

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy provides a personalised approach to health, applying nutrition science in the promotion of optimum health and wellbeing. Registered nutritional therapists use a variety of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to individual health concerns and symptoms. Nutritional therapy is recognized as a complimentary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking to optimise their health and wellbeing. It can be used alongside other complimentary therapies as well as traditional medicine.

Nutritional therapy may be of help with the following conditions:

  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Digestive dysfunction
  • Stress management & Fatigue
  • Weight management
  • Fertility issues
  • Skin problems
  • Detoxification
  • Sleep problems
  • Identifying and understanding food intolerances

How does a consultation work?

Before your consultation, you will be asked to download and complete the Nutritional Therapy Questionnaire (NTQ) and the 3-Day Food Diary forms.

Once completed, you can return the forms, ideally via email and at least 2 days before your initial consultation. This will ensure you get the most out of your session.  Please also bring details (photos are fine) of any medication and supplements you are currently taking. It is important you continue taking your medication as usual, and always consult your doctor before stopping any medication.

Test & diagnosis

In some instances functional testing may be suggested, but this will be discussed in full before any tests are arranged. A range of tests are available which can be used as a diagnostic tool to help identify imbalances and as a way of monitoring health programmes. The costs of these tests vary and are at additional cost. I use a variety of laboratories including The Doctor’s Laboratory, Genova Diagnostics, Invivo Clinical, Cyrex and Biolab. Common functional tests include:

Comprehensive diagnostic stool test

Hormone testing

Vitamin & mineral status

Thyroid testing

SIBO testing

And many others available
